At the end of January, Eryn [the owner and pattern designer for Style Sew Me Patterns] released the Giselle Dress. Prior to this month, I ain’t never sewn one of her patterns, but from the minute I saw it, this dress started speaking to me in all kinda tongues!

Today’s post is all the tea about the Gilbert Top by Helen’s Closet. TBH, I don’t have a lot of memade tops in my wardrobe… I really am to blame for that because I have a particular affinity to dresses. My final shoot for the year went down on the 5th of December. We spent our Saturday afternoon capturing stills of my latest make, another Simplicity 8014 – this one in Caramel Predator’s Pride cotton poplin from Mood!

But, when I saw @scarletstitchonline rebrand October as #patternhacktober, in celebration of her birth month, I just HAD to jump on board. Because who doesn’t love a good pattern hack?

I cannot, and SHALL NOT lie… pants have been my nemesis! I made a few unsuccessful attempts in the past and have tried a combination of every pant adjustment under the sun, at one point or another. Each time, I abandoned the project… but never the learnings.
